THE RELIGIOUS MAN IN A SECULARIZED WORLD
Abstract
Secularization is a phenomenon that generates the desecration of the society and of man. In time, the western culture has disseminated an autonomous conception regarding the world, which has eliminated God from the visible creation, isolating Him in an inaccessible transcendence. The most painful consequence of secularization is the minimization of the human person and of interpersonal communion. In this state of the secularized man one can see the result of an unbalanced conception regarding God, the world and man, a conception poisoned as well by its characteristic anthropocentrism. The humanist ideologies and ideologisms do not propose the real affirmation of the person and of the interhuman communion either, since, by refusing to accept man's teandric nature and the Trinitarian divine model of communion, they imprison man either in an egocentric individualism or in a leveling collectivism. All these have led to the present spiritual crisis, a crisis based on man's drifting away from God, from the Church, from the true values, from the communion with God but also with our fellows. The current spiritual crisis has been born from the desire of some “crazy philosophies” to eliminate God from the world and to empower man as master of the whole creation.
