THE SYMMETRY IN THE SYSTEMS OF KEY-RELATIONSHIP AND THE PROBLEM OF REVERSIBILITY OF THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE TONALITIES
Abstract
The problem of the symmetry of key relationship is one of specific problems in the theory of music which has a great urgency for studying of tonal music of Modern times. Opened by english musicologist E. Prout it gained the development in works of the soviet scientists (I. V. Spossobin, L. M. Rudolf, A. N. Dolzhanskiy, Yu. N. Tyulin, M. A. Iglitskiy, Yu. G. Kohn, L. A. Mazel, S. S. Grigoryev, Yu. N. Kholopov). The studying of this problem led to understanding of a divergence between known theories and the real practice which shows the presence of asymmetry at the relations between keys. Many aspects of this problem were studied. However, the prime causes of the symmetry and the asymmetry of the relations (first of all acoustic) demand new studying.
