PAGANS AND CHRISTIANS IN NAISSUS (SERBIA)
Abstract
The cults of solar theology were more prominent in the territory of Serbia in the Late Roman period. The expansion of Christianity was slow so the strong church organization could not have been established in Naissus before of Milan edict. Pagan monotheistic ideas were close to some concepts of Christianity particularly those implying the equality between rich and poor in eternal paradise after death. Nevertheless, contrasts in the concepts of these religions were big and irreconcilable and resulted in decisive victory of Christianity in the time of Theodosius I.
