HERMENEUTICS OF “THE KINGDOM MESSAGE” IN THE CONTEXT OF INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE
Abstract
This article examines theoretical background of interreligious dialogue from the perspective of “the kingdom message” that is to be understood, either explicitly or implicitly, the core reference point of all Christian philosophy and theology. The main objective of the article is to point out the significance of hermeneutics of “the kingdom message” for interreligious dialogue. The question “What is the relevance of the kingdom message to the interreligious dialogue today?” may be, therefore, considered the most appropriate expression of its original intention. The first part of the paper consists of a brief exposition of hermeneutics of “the kingdom message”, while the second part contains some of its implications concerning the current Christian religious philosophy, theology of religions and interreligious dialogue. The author argues in favor of the theoretical position of inclusivism as considered a prospective starting point for further consideration on the dialogue among religions.
