THE MYTH OF EMOTIONAL DEPENDENCE IN GENDER VIOLENCE WOMEN VICTIMS
Abstract
The myth of emotional dependence in victims of gender-based violence women is explored in this paper in a sample of Psychology undergraduates. The dependent personality diagnostic criteria of DSM-IV are taken as reference, such as is formulated by the IPDE (International Personality Diagnostic Examination). Identifying these beliefs, patriarchal and socially constructed shared in future professionals of psychology, we will outline the need for specialized gender training for appropriate intervention for this problem.
