THE INFLUENCE OF GOVERNMENT POLICY ON THE SERVICES SECTOR
Abstract
At present, many services companies are joining the ranks of science-intensive national economy sectors, generating various innovations, among them innovations in the spheres of infrastructural, utility, household services, as well as computer, engineering, telecommunications, medical and educational technologies and services. All of the above contributes to the dynamic development of the services sector. In the services sector, a major role is played by the provision of household services to the population. However, the network of household services companies is insufficiently developed in rural areas, especially in highly peripheral towns and villages, which presents a serious setback in the development of the household services industry. An important role in the functioning and development of the services sector locally is to be played by municipal administrations since faster progress in the local services sector will act as a catalyst for local development capable of triggering a chain of stable intrinsic changes in the economy of a municipality. However, by far not all local administrative bodies pay due respect to the above. This work is aimed at researching how government policy, including regional and municipal policy, influences the development of the services sector.
