ON THE PROBLEM OF MODELING AND FORECASTING INFORMATION RESOURCES NEEDS OF ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES
Abstract
In this paper we introduce an authentic treatment of information resources term based on the producer theory. Following this framework, we suggest a list of qualitative measures for demand for informational resources in economic activities. To provide sources for management and forecasting of demand for information resources, we suggest a list of socio-economic determinants for every listed measure of demand for informational resources. The determinants cover development and state indicators of economic activities and general economy, and human resources, and compatibility indicators. We test our hypotheses concerning factors significance using econometric modeling tools further. Based on model verification and the results of comparative quality analysis of models and individual factors we select the most elucidated measures and the most significant determinants of informational resources needs from the initial lists. From this point, the general result might be employed in priority economic activities stimulation.
