THE IMPACT OF SHORT FILMS IN GROUP WORK AND INSTRUCTION
Abstract
Group work and instruction are the most crucial points of teaching and learning. The usage of multimedia in instruction today has a great importance in school life. Orbis Pictus of Comenius and the Devew School have already proved this. This paper will deal with group work and the usage of short films in instruction in secondary schools. The research in this respect includes various different research techniques such as direct observation, surveys, experiments, etc. By the direct observation with participation we will be able to see how students were affected after having watched a short movie related to group work and achieved successes; will they be able to create groups on their own, and is it clear to them what they will have to do? The idea is to see the differences between two groups of pupils who have not been exposed to the same influences (experimental and controlling). The survey proves the students' claims and the results are more in favor of the experimental group. The observation also identifies differences between the two groups in terms of stimulating the readiness for joint work.
