PIRATES AND GREENS – THE OPPOSITES OF THE NEW POLITICAL SPECTRUM
Abstract
The paper reflects some of the recent researches and observations of the author about the new trends in the transformation of the political spectrum. The traditional political families underestimated the appearance of The Greens in the mid 70's and 80's. Now the green ideology is well known to the public and the green followers especially in Europe represent a formidable power. Till 2006 The Greens were a lonely riders on the political arena as a nontraditional actor, but with the existence of The Pirates that is no longer the case. The Greens and The Pirates form a new political spectrum. The author suggests that this is the spectrum of future, with central values that are no more anthropocentric and with main topics based on coexistence. The Greens and The Pirates build together a new dual extreme between the “ecological wisdom (and the slogan “back to The Nature”)” and the “open source (and the slogan “information and technology for everyone”)”.
