THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PSYCHOMOTOR CAPACITY OF MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGH MOVEMENT GAMES

Abstract

The purpose of this research was the development of the psychomotor capacity through movement games in the case of middle school pupils, even though the suitable development age it is considered ( Claparede E., Piaget J., Parlebas P.) to be of 6-8 years old. The longitudinal type teaching experiment was shaped around an applied psychological and teaching intervention, which aimed to estimate the influence of the movement games designed to develop certain components of the psychomotor capacity. This approach spread over the 2013-2014 school year and focused on the 6th grade students (n=20), with ages between 12 and 13 years old, of the "Constantin Brancoveanu" Middle School, of Slatina, Olt County, of professor N.M.D. The subjects were tested through initial and final testing: the floor laterality and static balance (Flamingo Test); manual laterality and smooth coordination (opening and closing the top of a small plastic container); eye-hand coordination and learning the propulsion-release manipulation (throwing activity – bowling launching); eye-hand coordination and coordinative capacity (throwing activity – pitching to a fixed target) and the space-time orientation capacity and speed (Ply 5x5m test). As a result of the final testing of the subjects, there were significant differences, with a precision of 99\%, at the significance threshold of 0,01 (pextless0.01), which leads us to the conclusion that the developed movement games had a significant contribution onto the development of the targeted components of the psychomotor capacity.
