Under increasing pressure for change in the land use patterns within city's floodplains, there is a need of protecting or reconnecting fragmented ecological corridors along the riversides. Combining leisure and recreational activities with urban agriculture and flood protection, seems to be the most sensible thing to do in order to ensure efficient use of ecosystem services.
