The study is based on the hypothesis that various extracts from Usnea barbata L. have antibacterial action. In this work, six lichen extracts of different concentrations in: 96% ethanol, acetone and water, have been studied. Their inhibitory action was tested by diffusimetric antibiogram method, on Gram-positive bacteria from the oro-dental cavity: two Streptococcus species: Streptococcus intermedius and Streptococcus oralis and two Staphylococcus species: Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus aureus.
