The Romanian lied after the second half of the 20th century till now has manifested in different ways of expression, both as chamber works with texts of secular inspiration and with texts of religious inspiration. Thus, the lieds composed by the Romanian composers are based on songs, poems or ballads of folkloric inspiration, then the texts of the Romanian poets and also of the foreign poets.
