PATHOPHYSIOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF INTOXICATION WITH CYANOGEN SUBSTANCES

(STEF92 Technology, 2014, Gabriela Lilios, Gheorghe Taralunga, Mariana Arcus, Ramona M. Stoicescu, Verginica Schroder)

The highest quantity of cyanogen compounds in the environment results mainly from human activities (ore extraction, cleaning and hardening metals, galvanization etc). People with metabolic disorders in cyanide conversion to thiocyanide show a higher risk of intoxication with cyanogen substances. Some deficient diets may increase the risk to cyanide exposure. Thiocyanide, the main metabolite of cyanide, cause endemic goiter in humans and animals. In the studies, orally administrated cyanide and thiocyanide to rats,...

THE IDENTIFICATION OF NATURAL ACTIVE PRINCIPLES WITH IMPLICATION IN GASTRIC CYTOPROTECTION

(STEF92 Technology, 2014, Mariana Arcus, Gabriela Lilios, Verginica Schroder, Ramona M. Stoicescu)

It is known that complex polysaccharides (polyuronides) are natural macromolecular compounds located in all the plant organs in special histological formations (cells and canals), as well as in the external seminal tegument. In contact with water, they form colloidal solutions or gels. Under the action of the intestinal flora they are split and form a protective film for mucous membranes as well as create a pH unfavorable for the development of the pathogenic microbial flora involved in the degradation of the inte...

THERAPEUTIC ELEMENTS IN ALGIC POSTTRAUMATIC SYNDROME

(STEF92 Technology, 2014, Sibel Demirgian, Elena Valentina Ionescu, Olga Surdu, Mariana Arcus, Ramona M. Stoicescu, Gabriela Lilios)

It is well known that the pathogenic mechanism of algic posttraumatic syndrome is still incompletely understood. Although multiple attempts have been made to reduce chronic regional pain syndrome to a single pathophysiologic mechanism (e.g., sympatho-afferent coupling), it has become increasingly accepted that there are multiple mechanisms involved. Only in the past few years, has it been recognized that chronic regional pain syndrome is not simply a sympathetically mediated peripheral pain condition but rather is...
