This paper presents the results of a study of cultural concepts on the material of the Yakut language. It deals with the analysis of binary concepts: LIFE / DEATH, GOOD / EVIL, LOVE / HATRED. These are basic cultural concepts that classify the world. In this case we focus on the relations between language and culture according to approaches “language as a cultural resource” (Duranti Alessandro, 1997) and “language as a general cultural phenomenon” (Marcel Danesi, 2004).
