Background: Renal disorders during pregnancy are variable, ranging from asymptomatic bacteriuria to end stage renal disease. Pregnancy increases the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs), especially due to the hormonal and mechanical changes, that are predisposing to renal and urinary stasis.
