The contribution focuses on historical relationships of the development of vocal performance and vocal pedagogy in the second half of the 20th century, which is definitely based on the classical vocal performance and vocal pedagogy respecting the bel canto principle of singing. The Slovak vocal school fully respected the Italian bel canto principle of singing.
