Aim: The purpose of the study was to explore whether the mother's autonomy in decision making during birth and the mother's respect during birth are associated with the symptoms of postpartum depression. Methods: The study participants included 240 women 6-8 weeks postpartum (mean age 30.4, SD=4.8; 47.1% primiparas; 75.4% vaginal birth).
